Street Style Notes: How the City Is Dressing This Autumn
Oversized layers, flat shoes and a lot of brown — what we spotted on the streets this month.

Spend a week watching how people dress on their way to work and a few clear patterns appear.
Brown has replaced black as the city's quiet uniform. Chocolate coats, tan trousers and caramel knits were everywhere.

The details that stood out
Shoes have come right down to earth. Loafers, ballet flats and chunky trainers outnumbered heels by a wide margin.

Bags have grown again: big, soft and slouchy, carried in the crook of the arm rather than on the shoulder.
